Twilight star Kellan Lutz, currently filming a movie in Bulgaria, has released an exclusive video in support of fund-raising for an NGO that is taking care of stray dogs.
“After seeing the many stray dogs in Bulgaria, myself & the cast of “Hercules” (a multimillion-dollar action epic movie) couldn't stand by and not do something to help “Animal Rescue Sofia” (a Bulgarian NGO aiming to solve the stray dogs and cats problem in Sofia)“, says Lutz in a posting on his official Facebook page.
“Animal Rescue Sofia” manages the largest dog shelter in Bulgaria – the municipal dog shelter in Bogrov.
Disturbed by the sight of so many stray dogs along the streets of Sofia, Lutz and the cast of "Hercules” visited a shelter managed by Animal Rescue Sofia in an effort to raise much need funds to keep the shelter open.
The star and his crew shot a short video in support of the NGO's goal to raise EUR 210 000 by the end of the year in order to buy a new facility, after losing the lease of their current building.
Kellan Lutz is also an active supporter of the worldwide animal charity PETA.
