Bulgaria: Today's Quote Bulgarian Education Minister, Aneliya Klisarova, photo BGNES.

"The University as an institution should be above politics and should not conduct politics. Students are young, educated, and must state their civil position. How to express opinion is really a personal choice, but it should not violate the rights of others, who have different views. The President of Sofia University and its Academic Council must make a decision and arrange things so that the learning process is not interrupted."

Bulgarian Education Minister, Aneliya Klisarova, regarding the permanent student occupation of the country's oldest and most prestigious school, Sofia University.

Countryhick1 you don't seem to understand the concept of evidence. I don't know whether students buy degrees or not. I don't know whether people buy driving licences or not. Just saying it doesn't make it true. Do you know somebody who has done these things? Do you trust this person? If he or she has actually carried these activities, why would they admit it unless overtaken by an attack of guilty conscience. Then they have to publicly name the official involved. Assertions are just a form of moaning; evidence can cause change.

Sofia University is a good university and I know it is low in the world rankings.

I question the quality of these rankings as they rate American and Western Universities highly but rate Universities from the former Soviet Bloc lowly and I think unfairly, sorry I don't have evidence but Bulgarias top university should be higher in world rankings.

"Maudlin"- assertions ("Outside oligarch pay the dumb BG students and "teach" them what democracy is ! ") are infantile mud slinging. What is your evidence?

Hairydave your comment made me laugh. You are the person on this forum who has a clear understanding of politics and the political choices facing Bulgaria.

It's a choice between the same old corrupt, morally bankrupt and crony enriching politicians that is the socialist party or the corrupt, morally bankrupt and crony enriching politicians as shown by GERB, Or the ДПС, which is corrupt, morally bankrupt and crony enriching. And so on and so on. Voting in Bulgaria is like entering a brothel, you a merely selecting whom to be f***** by.
