The leader of Bulgarian's far-right, extreme nationalist Ataka party, Volen Siderov, has not cast a vote in the no-confidence motion against the government because the voting system has blocked.
One Ataka Member of the Parliament has voted against, all others abstained.
"I simply physically did not manage to vote. The machine did not allow me to. Otherwise, I don't know who voted against – maybe this person was confused or this was his opinion – it does not matter to us. I have said on numerous occasions that this is not the military, everyone has the right to vote as they please," said Siderov before Darik radio.
According to him, the vote was useless and senseless as it was not part of society's agenda.
Siderov listed as current priorities for Bulgaria and his party a moratorium on selling land to foreign citizens, which was recently rejected on committee level, and to close the border for refugees, which was also recently rejected.
Earlier in the day, Bulgaria's Parliament rejected the second no-confidence vote against the socialist-led coalition government, with 118 votes against, 93 votes for, and 20 abstained.
The no-confidence motion was initiated by the opposition center-right GERB party, over the failed infrastructure and regional development policies of the government.
The first no-confidence vote, over the government's investment policies, was rejected on October 2.
