Debates on the second government no-confidence motion, tabled by the opposition GERB, should be held in the Bulgarian Parliament Wednesday.

The new no-confidence motion targets the cabinet's investment and regional policies. According to Members of the Parliament from the formerly-ruling centrist Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, the failure in regional policies has led to the deepening of differences in different regions of the country and has been caused by poor absorption of EU funds.

Sergey Stanishev, leader of the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, labeled motives for the vote are pathetic and laughable.

Lyutvi Mestan, leader of the liberal predominantly ethnic Turkish party Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, which supports the Socialist-led government, says GERB were on their way to turn the no-confidence vote into a daily parliamentary routine.

"I can forecast with certainty that after two more such votes GERB will manage to kill this most important opposition tool. We will approach every vote seriously, regardless of how senseless its motives are," says Mestan.

GERB confirmed Wednesday morning that their group, which is the largest in Parliament, will arrive for work, but it is still not certain if they will register for the sitting.

Meanwhile the extremist nationalist party Ataka came out with a new press release, infomring the MPs, who are not part of the official visit to Austria, which was announced Tuesday, will show up for work in the Parliament.

In an similar situation end of September, GERB MPs refused to register, while Ataka were on a trip to Brussels, with the initial debate and voting on a prior no-confidence vote tabled by GERB falling through.

October 2, Bulgaria's Parliament eventually rejected the first no-confidence motion for the cabinet of PM Plamen Oresharski.

The vote on the motion must be held 24 hours after the end of the debate. In order for it to pass, 121 MPs (out of a total of 240) must cast their position. GERB has 97 MPs. BSP and DPS together have 120, thus it is expected that Ataka will be, once again, kingmaker.

Stanishev promised that BSP MPs will be all present for the debates.

Meanwhile, Nova TV reported at 9 am that there is an impressive quorum of 205 MPs in plenary hall.
