Bulgaria’s residential electricity tariffs are at the lowest nominal level in the EU, according to Eurostat energy prices stats.

Bulgaria has the lowest average household electricity prices in EU, when expressed in EUR, with EUR 9.6 per kWh, while the average electricity price in EU is EUR 19.7 per kWh, according to Eurostat.

Currently Bulgaria’s households pay EUR 8.2 PER kWh, as a result of the 5% August, 2013 decrease in the country's electricity prices announced by the regulator, State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation, DKEVR.

Bulgaria’s household electricity prices expressed in purchasing power standards (PPS) are 8.2% lower than EU 27 average, according to Eurostat.
