The sponsor general of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation has pledged a bonus of BGN 0.5 M for each player if the male national team gets the gold in the 2013 European Championship.
The information was reported Thursday by Lyubo Ganev, head of the Bulgarian delegation, who is now in Copenhagen.
The silver will bring the players BGN 300 000 in bonuses, and the bronze – BGN 200 000, the sports site Gong.bg informs.
The Bulgarian male national team qualified for the semi-finals of the championship after two hard-earned victories against Poland and Germany.
They fill face Italy on Saturday at 7 pm in Copenhagen.
In the other semifinal, Russia will meet Serbia.
Ganev reported the team has arrived on a charter flight from Poland and were very pleased with their accommodations.
"Many people called me to congratulate us with the victory over Germany, even the former and the current Prime Ministers of Bulgaria. The sponsor was extremely pleased and announced the well-deserved bonuses," said he.
