Bulgaria’s formerly ruling center-right GERB party will make a motion on Tuesday for no-confidence vote against current Socialist-led cabinet of PM Plamen Oresharski , GERB MP Tsetska Tsacheva confirmed on Tuesday.

In a statement, Tsacheva explained GERB’s move with Oresharski’s weak ruling policy causing instability in the internal affairs of the country triggering the ongoing mass anti-government protests.

“The cabinet’s policies are marked by instability, as for more than 3 months the protests calling for the government’s resignation haven’t stopped. That instability is a risk for the national security” Tsatscheva commented.

The social policies and the cabinet’s move to revise the budget by increasing the state debt are against the interests of the society, the GERB politician pointed out.

The current series of anti-government protests in Bulgaria was triggered by the scandalous appointment of controversial media mogul Delyan Peevski as Chair of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) on June 14.

Although the appointment was revoked, Bulgarians went on to demand that the cabinet of PM Plamen Oresharski resign collectively.
