There is some improvement in the condition 4-year-old Stefan who fell from an escalator in "Grand Mall Varna."

The child has been stabilized with no fever and his pulse was normalized. Post-transfusion hemoglobin has risen to 80. There are still problems with his lungs, abdomen and brain, doctors in the Black Sea city of Varna, have said.

The boy already underwent three successful surgeries for broken hip, forearm and arm. No other surgical interventions are currently planned. He will undergo conservative treatment for three fractures of the pelvis. Stefan remains in medically-induced coma.

The boy sustained severe injuries after falling ten meters down from a shopping mall escalator.

The incident happened Tuesday evening. The child was at the mall's daycare, but managed to leave unnoticed. He leaned on the escalator's moving railing and was dragged before falling 10 meters down.

The emergency ambulance took him to the local St Anna hospital.

There were three staff and the receptionist inside the daycare at the time. They have all been interrogated by the prosecutor's office in Varna, along with one manager of the company owner of the daycare.

The authorities are still probing the case – they are interrogating witnesses and have seized tapes from the security cameras.
