Bulgaria's former President Georgi Parvanov (2001-2012) is working on a new political project, with a party expected to be established by the end of the autumn, according to a local TV channel.

bTV has cited unnamed Bulgarian Socialist Party sources as saying that former Socialist MP Tatyana Doncheva is set to join Parvanov's new project.

Parvanov and Doncheva reportedly consider inviting Bulgarian Socialist Party lawmakers to the new left-wing party.

The alleged new formation's name is yet to be revealed.

In 2010, Parvanov tried to launch his own political project, the Alternative for Bulgarian Renneisance (ABV) movement, which was declared "frozen" less than a year after its inauguration.
