Bulgarian marginal nationalist party National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria (NFSB) and the Civic Alliance for Real Democracy of controversial MEP Slavi Binev have announced their merger into a brand new political party.

The news was reported by NFSB’s press office on Friday.

The merger between the two parties will be officially proclaimed on a press conference on Monday.

The priority scheme of the nationalist party will be taken into account.

The press release claimed that the move was aiming to form an entity “working in favor of Bulgaria's interests and defending Bulgarian citizens from the political monopole and the status quo.”

NFSB gathered 3.7% of the votes in May’s early elections, while the Civic Alliance for Real Democracy was then part of the Proud Bulgaria coalition, which gathered 0.45%.
