Friday is the 50th day of anti-government protests in Bulgaria and Parliament's last work day before the summer recess.

The summer holiday of MPs ends on August 31.

Protesters are to gather in front of the Parliament building in Sofia earlier than usual to "see them off", according to reports of the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

Over 2000 people have confirmed on Facebook they will take a half day off today to attend the demonstration.

The demonstrators have been invited to come by car and start cruising around Parliament, along the defensive perimeter around the building, staging a sort of a blockade.

At 9 am on Saturday, a protest march to the seaside starts on Independence square in downtown Sofia.

The protesters plan to reach the former royal residence and the current government residence "Evksinograd" near Varna in around 10 days, going through the cities of Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Burgas and Varna on the way.

On Thursday, the demonstrators asked Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev to veto the newly adopted amendments to the 2013 State Budget Act.

The series of mass anti-government rallies started on 14 June in response to the election of controversial media tycoon Delyan Peevski as a head of the State Agency for National Security (DANS).

Although the appointment was cancelled, the move did not appease public discontent and the people went on to demand the resignation of the socialist-led government of Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski over ties with oligarchs.
