Scores of anti-government protesters hissed and booed Bulgarian lawmakers as they returned to work Thursday morning.

Despite the fresh morning rally, the Members of the Parliament were able to enter the building safely and have started the debates on the draft budget 2013 update on first reading.

At least 100 people have gathered on the square in front of the building of the Parliament. They have blocked one of the lanes of "Tsar Liberator" boulevard. The boulevard between "Rakovski" street and the Sofia University is closed for traffic.

Another group is located at the north (back) entrance of the Parliament, used by MPs to gain access. They are booing them and asking them to visit their tent camp to negotiate the resignation of the government.

People are waving national and EU flags and are shouting "resignation!"

The stands offering free coffee to demonstrators are opened.

Meanwhile, 159 MPs out of 240 have registered for the session. They are from all parliamentary represented parties, including from the formerly-ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB.

The MPs had to postpone their sitting on Wednesday in the aftermath of clashes between riot police and anti-government protesters. The latter sat on the pavement and erected barricades near the Parliament late Tuesday into Wednesday to prevent lawmakers and ministers discussing in 3 committees the budget update from leaving the building. Media reporters inside also ended up being under siege.

Wednesday evening was also the first time when MPs from GERB returned to the Parliament to participate in the budget update debates after their leader and former Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, ordered them to not attend plenary hall sittings.

Thursday marks day 42 in Bulgaria of protests against the Socialists-endorsed Cabinet of Prime Minister, Plamen Oresharski.

The morning protest is to merge with the traditional afternoon rally starting 6.30 pm in front of the Council of Ministers building.

After the clashes Tuesday, the rally on day 41st (Wednesday) was once again peaceful.

The series of rallies was triggered by the appointment of notorious media mogul Delyan Peevski as Chair of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) back on June 14, but the protesters were not appeased by the subsequent cancellation of the decision and went on to demand the resignation of the Socialist-led cabinet over ties with oligarchs.
