Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov has said that organizing snap elections now without amending the existing Election Code will lead to the same results and case the very same group of protesters to take to the streets again, this time with a good reason.

Speaking Wednesday before a sitting of the Supreme Judicial Council (VSS), Tsatsarov said that the anti-government protest on Tuesday evening had been marred by attempts to incite disorder at any cost.

Tuesday's anti-government rally, the 40th in a row, escalated into a blockade of the Parliament building, with riot police interfering to rein in the demonstration and attempting to evacuate the 109 "hostages," including former and current ministers, MPs and journalists, trapped inside.

The people were safely taken out of Parliament around 3.30 am on Wednesday, after a night of occasional clashes between police and protesters.

"There were people who did not fit into the peaceful protest. The Interior Ministry has the task of identifying these people, but no such reports have arrived yet...Some of the people aimed to cast a darker shadow over both the police and the peaceful protesters," Tsatsarov said Wednesday, stressing that the rally was not to be marred because of the presence of people who wanted to stir up conflict at any cost.

"It is time we admitted there is a problem. The problem lies within society, but we cannot say that the protest destabilizes society and there are mass breaches of public order," the Chief Prosecutor stated, as cited by the BGNES news agency.

"Without pretending to be an expert in police tactics, the decision to evacuate the people in this big white bus was not really the most appropriate tactical decision. To some extent, this provoked the protesters, or at least enhanced discontent," he stated.

People have been protesting in Bulgaria for 41 days straight now, demanding that Oresharski resign, after a string of controversial appointments.

However, many of them say they are also protesting against center-right party GERB and the existing political system at large, which they see as dominated by a shady oligarchy.
