Sofia, 7 pm, Council of Ministers headquarters.

Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski and the head of Sofia police are watching the mass rally from the window of a room on the top floor.

The police chief says:

“It is easy to see there are 3 000, not 30 000 protesters down there.”

Oresharski disagrees:

“I would rather say they are 3 002.”

“How come?”

“The Ambassadors of Germany and France have just joined.”
