Bulgaria's Parliament has appointed Rumyana Todorova Director of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

Todorova was unanimously backed by 101 members of parliament, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.

Her term in office expires on February 12, 2015.

There were two nominees for the post of NHIF Director – Rumyana Todorova, sister of Bulgarian socialist MEP Iliyana Yotova, backed by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), and Dincho Genev, head of the Association of Hospital Physicians, supported by the ethnic Turkish party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS).
