June 14 is the end of Bulgaria's centenarian party, according to the leader of Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party (GERB) and former Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

He was referring to the left-wing Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, whose followers and members often brag about its 100 plus years of history and of being a political factor in the country.

Borisov spoke Friday, after Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski proposed to have Delyan Peevski, controversial Member of the Parliament from the ethnic Turkish party Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS,) to lead Bulgaria's National Security Agency (DANS.)

According to Borisov, DPS is now fully ruling Bulgaria.

"What I heard stunned me so much that I can't even believe it," Borisov added.

"Congratulations to Mr. Peevski for the new post. Congratulations to BSP for their demise. BSP seized to exist today. Now Bulgaria has one ruling party, and that is DPS," said the GERB leader.

Meanwhile, Peevski was elected DANS Head with the BSP and DPS vote.
