Protest rallies demanding the resignation of Bulgaria’s recently sworn-in government are to take place around noon on Sunday.

The protest rallies will be staged in Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and Ruse, according to Darik radio.

Some of the protesters are demanding new elections, since they believe the May 12 vote was manipulated.

Protesters have also claimed that the Cabinet of new Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski has been composed to serve the private interests of shady business structures.

Some 2 800 Bulgarians have indicated themselves as “going” to the nationwide protests on Facebook.

The first protests against the Socialist-led government took place last Sunday, just three days after it took oath of office.

The center-right government of former PM Boyko Borisov resigned in February amid massive protests triggered by corruption and poverty.
