Bulgarian Parliament Chair Mihail Mikov has criticized the boycott of the Thursday parliamentary sitting by the former-ruling center-right GERB party.

"Leaving the parliamentary hall is a grave political act," Mikov said to the MPs from GERB who left the Parliament on Thursday, leaving it without quorum, Bgnes reported.

Mikov pointed that MPs cannot leave the hall in order to stop the parliamentary proceedings.

"It is intolerable to stain the authority of the General Assembly by a little childish competition who will first push their card to register early in the morning. Those, who have decided to work seriously and whom the people chose for MPs, have to have a clear vision of what the Parliament constitutes," Mikov said, adding that the strenuous work of restoring the authority of the institution had just started.
