Bulgaria’s capital Sofia will host the first European Tour snooker event of the season this weekend, with the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson taking part in the tournament.

“Ronnie is here because he likes Bulgaria and he wants to play,” Oleg Velinov, president of the Bulgarian Snooker Federation, has told Capital Daily.
The five-time world champion will play in the Balkan country for the second time. The Rocket took part in a demonstrative match against Jack Lisowski in Sofia back in 2011.
Crucible runner up Barry Hawkins is against Alexander Ursenbache while Australian Neil Robertson plays Bulgarian Ivailo Pekov in the first round.
The Bulgarian Open tournament consists of games of best of seven frames, with the winner picking up EUR 25,000, according to givemesport.com.
The tournament starts on Friday and will finish by Sunday.
