Snap Elections Loom according to Bulgarian Socialist Party
Amidst escalating political turmoil in Bulgaria, the prospect of snap elections looms large, with Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Kornelia Ninova delivering scathing remarks on Tuesday
Protesters against the proposed new Bulgarian cabinet to be chaired by PM hopeful Plamen Oresharski have blocked traffic at the main Orlov Most (Eagles Bridge) intersection in Bulgaria's capital Sofia.
Some 300 predominantly young people have convened to protest what they see as non-transparent minister nominations intended to serve shady organizations.
Ralliers are shouting slogans such as "Mafia," "Bulgaria wake up!" and "Red trash," referring to the Bulgarian Socialist Party, on the mandate of which the Oresharski cabinet was formed.
They have also used a pun, calling the former Bulgarian Minister of Finance "Oligarski" in reference of his alleged serving the interests of the oligarchy.
After lingering at Orlov Most, the rally started along the main Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd, escorted by the police, towards the President's Office at the Nezavisimost Sq.
Later Tuesday evening protesters quietly started to disperse.
Another protest has already been scheduled nearby Parliament at 9 am Wednesday, when the house is to vote on the Oresharski cabinet.
