Emergency Landing Closes Runway at Heathrow Airport

A British Airways plane bound for Oslo made an emergency landing at London's Heathrow Airport Friday morning after developing a technical fault, the airline said.

Both the airport's runways were closed for a period but the southern runway has now reopened. The northern runway remains closed.

All passengers and crew were "safely evacuated" from the plane following an engine fault at about 09:00 BST, the BBC informs.

BA said the Airbus A319 was carrying 75 passengers - and that a "full investigation" would be conducted into the incident.
