The Socialists and the ethnic Turks play as one party, according to former Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

Borisov spoke on his way out of the office of the presidential administration, after the conclusion of his talks with President, Rosen Plevneliev.

He went in in silence, but was more willing to chat with journalists after the meeting.

"200 000 fewer voters cast a ballot on May 12 for the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, and all 200 000 votes went to the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP. I warned a while ago about DPS' controlled vote going to BSP. They want to have a Cabinet with 120 Members of the Parliament behind them. My party – Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, has not made agreements with anyone. The scenario is thus clear – having some MPs from the far-right Ataka party leave their formation and always vote for the BSP-DPS Coalition. Ataka leader, Volen Siderov, as usual, will condemn the renegades and this will be it. This would be his way to find an excuse for collaborating," said Borisov, stressing the BSP-DPS-Ataka Coalition would be even more detrimental for the country than the Three-Way Coalition between BSP, DPS, and the party of former Tsar, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, National Movement for Stability and Prosperity, NMSP (2005 – 2009).

He labeled GERB's request to void the results of the early general elections a "bluff," which had forced the other political players to admit that the vote has been fair. The former PM explained the party was nevertheless insisting on the void and new elections were a must as smaller parties failed to win seats and their supporters felt unrepresented.

When asked how exactly GERB plans to submit the request with the Constitutional Court, Borisov replied he was no legal expert and for this reason the party has hired top-notch legal consultants.

Regarding the date to convene the 42nd General Assembly (Parliament), he noted his party will support any proposal of the other political formations.

When asked by the journalists how he felt, Borisov replied: "A winner!"

Bulgarian caretaker Prime Minister, Marin Raykov, also arrived around 10 am and left shortly after the talks started without speaking to the media.

"Today we are NOT conducting consultations on forming a new government. We are discussing technical details about the date of convocation of the Parliament," the President stressed meanwhile.

His meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, started at 11 am.

The President will then talk with the liberal ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, and the nationalist Ataka, at 12 pm and 1 pm respectively.

GERB, gathered 30.503% of the votes in Sunday's general elections, final results show.

Left-wing BSP is next with 26.614%, followed by DPS with 11.293% and the far-right, nationalist Ataka - 7.302%. All other parties running in Sunday's vote have remained below the 4% election threshold.

According to the final official count – GERB + Ataka will have together 120 seats and DPS + BSP – another 120 in the 240-seats unicameral Parliament.

The number of MP seats each of the four parties have won are as follows – 97 for GERB, 84 for BSP, 36 for DPS, and 23 for Ataka.
