Bulgarian Tsvetan Stoyanov has become chess world champion in the age category up to 9.

Stoyanov made a stunning performance of 8.5 pts out of 9 at the world competition in Porto Carras, Greece.

The boy was born in Kazanlak, central Bulgaria, but currently lives in the eastern city of Burgas, to train in the local chess club with coach Zhivko Zhekov.

This is Stoyanov's and Zhekov's second world success, after in 2012 Stoyanov grabbed the world gold in the age category up to 8.
