The caretaker Bulgarian cabinet has immaculately prepared an carried out early general elections that took place Sunday, according to Bulgaria's PM Marin Raykov.

"The election day was carried out and concluded successfully and peacefully as concerns the organization created by me," stated Raykov at a press event Monday.

Sunday evening a small group of protesters calling for annulment of election results clashed with police and broke into the election's international press center at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.

This rampant disruption of public order led to a delay of post-election party press conferences that is unprecedented in Bulgaria's democratic history.

As a result of the chaos, former ruling GERB party, which came out first at the vote - in another first for Bulgarian political life - chose to opt out of the press event.

The first briefing, given by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, began only after midnight.

At the same time, a flood of election violation signals from across the country came in throughout the election day.

According to Raykov, there were no significant violations during the voting.

In particular, Buglaria's caretaker PM asserted contrary to fact that there have been no complaints filed by election observers for failure to obtain copies of protocols from polling stations.

The foreign press has also widely reported on the rampant perceptions of election fraud during Sunday's vote.
