Bulgaria's Ministry of Interior and Central Electoral Commission have issued statements as saying that no significant violations have been registered Sunday, as Bulgarians vote on snap elections.

At the same time, the Bulgarian National Radio quotes signals from NGOs and political parties regarding multiple violations, including bote buying and controlled voting.

One person has already been detained and sentenced in Pleven on a quick procedure for staging vote buying, says the radio.

"Up to this moment, the election day is running smoothly, without any problems," said Central Electoral Commission spokesman Biser Troyanov Sunday afternoon.

"The secret of the vote and vote counting are guaranteed," said the election authority spokesperson.

"The situation in the country is normal; at present there is no information of violations that threaten the legimacy of the voting process," said the Bulgarian Interior Ministry in a release.
