Bulgaria's former Minister of Interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov has been questioned for some 4.5 hours now by the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office.
The former Minister of Interior now serves as campaign manager to former Bulgarian ruling party GERB for the coming May 12 early general elections.
There yet is no official statment regarding the nature of the interrogation.
But according to reports, Tsvetanov faces Tuesday another interrogation, at Bulgaria's Specialized Prosecutor's Office, the prosecution authority devoted to organized crime cases.
Most reports have it that the former top cop is being questioned over the case of anti-mafia police unit boss Stanimir Florov, who was recently charged with bribery in a case that implicated him in facilitating drug trafficking.
In past weeks, Tsvetanov's name has also been implicated in the so-called "wiretapping scandal," after prosecutors found out that police under the former minister engaged in massive use of special surveillance devices in violation of legal requirements.
