Turkey: Suicide Bombing in Ankara
A suicide bombing was carried out in front of the Ministry of Interior in the center of the Turkish capital, Ankara
The surviving suspect in last week's Boston Marathon bombings, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, "will not be treated as an enemy combatant," the US government has announced.
Tsarnaev will be prosecuted through the US civilian system of justice, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters Monday afternoon.
"Under US law, United States citizens cannot be tried in military commissions," Carney explained, as cited by CNN.
Some Republicans had urged the administration to assert the ability to treat Tsarnaev as an enemy combatant.
19-year-old suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is currently hospitalized due to serious wounds. He is conscious and responding in writing to authorities, according to the latest reports.
Dzhokhar and his elder brother Tamerlan are suspected of perpetrating the bombing of the Boston marathon last week, which killed 3 people and injured 176.
