The strong 7.8-magnitude earthquake which struck southeastern Iran on Tuesday destroyed hundreds of houses and killed over 30 people.
According to preliminary reports of local authorities, as cited by Al Jazeera, the powerful earthquake killed at least 34 people and injured 80 others in neighboring Pakistan.
A correspondent for Al Jazeera reporting from Karachi said that the victims were mostly Pakistani nationals, despite the fact that the quake had been centered in Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran's official news agency informed that the quake had injured at least 27 people but there were no immediate reports of any deaths.
According to reports of the US Geological Survey, the 7.8-magnitude quake struck at a depth of 15.2 km and the epicenter was 86km from the Iranian city of Khash.
