Bulgaria Drops to 51st in FIFA Ranking

Despite its decent performance in March, Bulgaria’s national football team has slipped five spots to 51st in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.

The Balkan nation is now one spot behind Burkina Faso and one ahead of Honduras.
The Bulgarians extended their unbeaten World Cup qualifying run, defeating Malta 6:0 at home and holding Denmark to a 1:1 draw in Copenhagen.

Lyuboslav Penev’s boys are now three points behind leaders Italy whom they visit on September 6.

World and European champion Spain leads an unchanged FIFA rankings top three, followed by Germany and Argentina.

Croatia has made a big move to No.4 after two World Cup qualifying wins, and tournament host Brazil dropped to No. 19.
