The quake was centered about 91 kilometers southeast of Bushehr, the site of a key Iranian nuclear facility.
The death toll from the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that hit southern Iran on Tuesday has risen to 30, according to the country’s state TV.
At least 800 people have been injured, according to international media.
Rescue teams have been sent to the affected area, but darkness is hampering rescue operations, the BBC informs.
The quake struck at 11:52 GMT at a depth of 10km. It was centered about 91 kilometers southeast of Bushehr, the site of a key Iranian nuclear facility.
Rosatom subsidiary Atomstroyexport, the Russian contractor which built the Bushehr plant, declared that the plant has not been affected by the earthquake.
