6,956,890 voters are included in the official lists for Bulgaria's May 12 early general election, announced the Civil Registry service at the Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development.
This is 7,700 more than the number announced by the service ahead of the January 27 referendum on nuclear energy.
The January lists were criticized as exceding with more than 0.8 M people the estimates of Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute of people in the country over 18.
The Civil Registry has also said it has updated the lists by removing the names of people deprived of the right to vote, which this time over numbered 14,127.
21,155 Bulgarian citizens have turned 18 since January 27, and will be able to vote for the first time, said the service.
