The emergency situation in the central Bulgarian municipality of Gabrovo has not been lifted as expected Monday
The emergency situation is effective for the city of Gabrovo, the towns of Dryanovo and Tryavna, and all villages, after hurricane-like winds hit them last Thursday.
About 22 villages remain without power. Schools are closed as the cleaning effort continues. There is still no access to some of the school buildings.
Commissions of appraisers, municipal officials, and firemen are starting examinations of damage of residential buildings Monday.
Two persons perished in Gabrovo due to wind-related causes, after a scaffold crashed on a 36-year-old woman, killing her on the spot, and an elderly man fell from his roof while trying to repair it.
