Iinvestments in the infrastructure can bring lasting peace in the Balkans, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy said ater meeting here with Macedonian Foreign Minister Ilinka Mitreva in Sofia. Passy added he hopes that `the political will expressed by the Macedonian Government and the support extended by Bulgaria will help attract the interest of external investors and encourage the international community to think about the Balkans not only at moments of crisis.` Mitreva also conferred with Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg and President Peter Stoyanov. Stoyanov was quoted saying during the meeting, `Now is the right moment to discuss and develop our common infrastructure projects, such as European Transport Corridor VIII, between the Black Sea and the Adriatic Sea, the high-voltage line which is to link the two national power grids, the Sofia-Skopje railway, and new border checkpoints. Where there is investment, there is no war; investors are strong advocates of the pacification of the region.`
