The three masked gunmen who abducted the 10-year-old daughter of Bulgarian drug lord Evelein Banev aka Brendo on Tuesday were driving a stolen BMW X5 vehicle, according to a local media report.

Police expect the perpetrators to set the vehicle on fire and leave it somewhere in the outskirts of Sofia, according to the 24 Chasa daily.

Police have blocked the capital's entrance and exit points.

The 10-year-old girl was abducted at approximately 7:30 am on Tuesday in the affluent Sofia suburb of Boyana.

The abductors reportedly headed towards the Okolovrastno Shose boulevard.

According to the latest media reports, the girl's bodyguard was shot twice in the back.

Banev was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison last month. He was charged with heading an organized crime gang and money laundering.
