A large majority of Bulgarians, 76%, support the protest rallies in the country and believe they must continue, according to a recent flash poll of Gallup.

45% of those of voting age voice readiness to attend the rallies in upcoming days. 47% have no intentions to do so.

The poll, conducted by phone among 801 Bulgarians from all over the country, has concluded on February 26th.

According to polling experts, the huge disappointment from the entire political elite is persisting and people are seeking new leader(s) to replace them.

Luckily, however, aggressive and extremist attitudes, registered earlier when the rallies began, are diminishing.

On February 21, the Parliament approved the resignation of Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, and his center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, amidst unprecedented since 1997 protest rallies against unbearable utility bills, monopolies and wide-spread poverty that turned into a civil unrest against the political model of ruling the country.

Meanwhile, Bulgarians are getting ready to stage a new nationwide protest rally, according to organizers, Yanko Petkov and Doncho Dudev.

The rally is scheduled for Sunday, March 3, the day Bulgaria will celebrate its National Holiday, marking the 135th anniversary of its Liberation from five centuries of Ottoman rule.

On this occasion, the organizers are calling on all Bulgarians to participate and to march peacefully, holding flowers to show respect to those who have perished for freedom.
