Depeche Mode fans in Bulgaria have been relieved to learn that the band’s concert in Sofia has been confirmed for May 12, the day on which snap elections will almost certainly take place in the country.

“After due consultation with the appropriate election authorities, there are no foreseeable obstacles to holding the band's concert on the previously scheduled date of May 12, 2013,” Sofia Music Enterprises has informed.

Sofia Music Enterprises has reminded fans that the concert will commence at 8:00 pm, which is after all voting booths in the country would be closed.

On Thursday, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev announced the snap elections will be held on May 12. His announcement followed the resignation of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and his GERB Cabinet.

The upcoming Depeche Mode concert will take place at Sofia's "Lokomotiv" Stadium.
