The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin has advised Germans traveling to Bulgaria to avoid areas where demonstrations and protest gatherings are held.

According to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), the latest travel advice of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin recommends that people traveling to Bulgaria seek more information for the situation in the country from their hosts and tour operators in view of the ongoing protests.

Bulgarians have been staging protests in major cities for the past 16 days over low salaries, high power and heating bills, corruption, and power monopolies.
