Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and his recently appointed deputy, Regional Development Minister Lilyana Pavlova, are to address a press conference on Tuesday.

Borisov, who is known for his frequent media appearances, at least several times a day, was nowhere to be seen for over 70 hours.

Borisov's last media presence was registered Saturday morning when he spoke for Nova TV.

His disappearance coincided with the mass protest rallies that have been staged across the country against high utility bills over the last days.

The largest protests were held precisely over the weekend and Monday evening when tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered in the capital Sofia and the other major cities in the country.

Even though Finance Minister Simeon Djankov shockingly resigned on Monday, Borisov is yet to offer an official explanation about the grounds, fueling rumors and assumptions.
