Bulgaria has handed to Europol the names of two of the suspects in the July 2012 terrorist attack against Israeli tourists in the resort city of Burgas.
Tuesday Bulgarian Minister of Interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov travelled to the Hague to meet Europol Director Rob Wainwright and inform him of the progress of the investigation.
This comes just a week after Tsvetanov first implicated an organization as standing behind the Burgas bus bombing, by naming "the military wing of Hezbollah," thus causing an international stir.
"I am happy that Europol has been closely involved in the investigation. This is an example of successful cooperation with Bulgarian services," stated Wainwright.
On his part, Tsvetanov expressed the same satisfaction and thanked Europol for their help in the probe.
The handing down of the names of the two suspects aims at Europol's finding out whether any of them had been present in the territory of another EU coutry ahead of the July 18, 2012 attack.
During his visit Tuesday, the Bulgarian Interior Minister expressed his hopes that with the help of Europol, the whole system of financing of the terror act will be unveiled.
