Sniper Shootings Linked

A 13-year-old boy has been shot and injured outside a school near Washington DC - apparently the eighth victim of a sniper who has killed six people so far. The boy was shot as he was being dropped off at Benjamin Tasker Middle School in Prince George County in the Maryland suburbs of the US capital. A police spokesman said the projectile recovered from the boy's body came from the same weapon as that used by the sniper in the other attacks.
A multi-state manhunt is under way to track down the gunman, but now that a child has been shot, the search has grown more intense and the area residents more nervous, the BBC's Katty Kay reports from Washington.
