Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev will mark his first anniversary in office with a meeting with three former heads of state of the country.

Plevneliev has scheduled a meeting with presidents Zheluy Zhelev (1990-1997), Petar Stoyanov (1997-2002), and Georgi Parvanov (2002-2012) at 11 am, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

The meeting will establish the so-called Council of Presidents which Plevneliev vowed to set up.

The Council of Presidents is to be a permanent informal club of the four Bulgarian presidents.

They are to meet periodically to discuss important topics.

Plevneliev has argued that the council aims to ensure continuity and upgrade of the achievements of the presidential institution for the past 20 years.

On Tuesday evening, Plevneliev will attend an official ceremony to award the annual prizes of the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT) for 2012.

The BAIT award campaign takes place under the aegis of the President.

Awards will be handed to companies in the sectors of information and communication technologies in a total of 11 categories.
