In the period January-November 2012, Turkey was visited by over 30 million foreign tourists, up by 0.5% from the same period of 2011.

According to statistics of Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as cited by dnevnik.bg,  the country registered a 2% year-on-year increase in the number of foreign tourists in November 2012.

The largest group of foreign tourists to visit Turkey was that of Germans, followed by Russians and Bulgarians.

Istanbul was the top destination for foreign tourists, attracting 44.61% of the visits of foreign tourists in 2012, followed by Antalya, Edirne, Artwin, and Izmir.
