Romania's ruling coalition will win a majority of votes in general elections on Sunday, according to an opinion poll.

The Social Liberal Union that backs Prime Minister Victor Ponta would win 57% in Suday's vote, according to a survey of 4,957 people between Novebmber 27 and December 2 by Avangarde and CURS, Bloomberg infroms.

In November, a CCSB poll predicted 62 for the Social Liberal Union, while a survey conducted in October by IMAS said the ruling coalition would win 57.4%.

The Right Romania Alliance of parties aligned with President Traian Basescu would garner 17% of the votes compared with 16% in the IMAS poll and unchanged from the CCSB poll. The People's Party of media entrepreneur Dan Diaconescu would get 15%, according to the Avangarde-CURS poll, which had a margin of error of 1.4 percentage points.
