Bulgarian Nationalists Snub No-Confidence Vote against GERB: Bulgarian Nationalists Snub No-Confidence Vote against GERB

Bulgaria's far-right, nationalist Ataka (Attack) party is not going to back the no-confidence vote against the Cabinet of Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

On Tuesday, the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS, announced they will start consultations for tabling a new no-confidence vote against the government of the ruling center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB.

Ataka leader, Volen Siderov, told the press they would not support the vote because they see DPS as an illegitimate structure and cannot discuss anything with them.

Siderov reminded the nationalists have launched a petition to ask the Constitutional Court to declare DPS illegal since the ethnic Turkish movement was leading policies against the Bulgarian State.

Ataka have also referred the case to the Chief Prosecutor, who has the authority to file a claim for the dissolving of the ethnic party on grounds it has been formed in violation of the Constitution.
