In the third quarter of 2012, the unemployment rate in Bulgaria increased by 1.3 percentage points as compared to the same period of 2011, according to the Labor Force Survey (LFS) of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).
In the period July – September 2012, there were a total of 392.9 thousand unemployed and the unemployment rate in Bulgaria was 11.5%.
According to NSI data, in Q3, 2012 the economically active population aged 15-64 was 3.369 million or 68.5% of the population in the same age group, up by 1.8 percentage points from Q3, 2011.
According to NSI's Labor Force Survey (LFS), in Q3, 2012 there were a total of 3.016 million employed people, or 47.9% of the population aged 15+.
