7 paintings from seminal painters Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet and Paul Gauguin have been stolen from Rotterdam's Kunsthal art museum overnight.
The report has been confirmed by Dutch police, who said that owners of the paintings have allowed reproductions to be shown.
Some of the more known among the stolen artworks are Picasso's "Harlequin's Head," Matisse's "Woman Reading," Monet's "Waterloo Bridge," and Gauguin's "Young Woman at a Window."
2 paintings by Dutch painter Meijer de Haan and German-British painter Lucien Freud have also been lifted.
The police have said that they are carrying a through investigation of the case and are currently researching the way the burglars entered the Kunsthal by night.
