MORE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DEPUTY PRIME MINISTERS

Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg has issued a decree setting out the specific functions of the three deputy prime ministers.
Lidiya Shuleva, deputy prime minister and minister of labour and social affairs, will be in charge of effecting the Council of Ministers` cooperation and cooperation with the Ministries of Health, Education and Science and Culture, and with the minister of state administration. She will be also responsible for the State Administration Commission, the Archives Administration, the Statistics Institute, and the state agencies, as well as for insurance policy and children`s protection.
Kostadin Paskalev, deputy prime minister and minister of territorial development and urbanization, will observe the activity of the minister without portfolio, the Ministry of Environment, and the Agencies on Energy Efficiency and Energy Regulation. He will also be responsible for the Civil Defence and the Agency on Sports and Youth, as well as for the Agencies of Refugees, Bulgarians Abroad and Foreign Aid.
Nikolay Vasilev, deputy prime minister and minister of economy, will coordinate the work of the Ministries of Transport and Agriculture, and the Agencies of Power Engineering, of Privatization, and Foreign Investments. He will also be responsible for the Stock Exchange Commission and the Mass Privatization Centre.
It happens for the first time in the modern Bulgarian administration, as previously it was accepted that PMs were responsible for all this matters. The decision is a part of the Prime minister`s Simeon Saxe-Coburg already declared strategy to delegate more responsibilities to his deputies.
