A weekly farmers' market may be introduced in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, as the project has been backed by the Sofia Municipality and several agriculture associations.

"We hope that Sofia sees its first farmers' market as soon as possible," Albena Simeonova from the Foundation for Environment and Agriculture has told Darik radio.

Simeonova pointed out that people will have the opportunity to communicate personally with farmers and return the following week to buy from the farmers whose produce they have liked.

Sofia's Zaimov Park may host the future farmers' market in the Bulgarian capital.
