After Attack, Israeli Tourism Min Visits Bulgaria

Israeli Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov will head a delegation to Bulgaria, days after a suicide attack killed 5 Israeli tourists in Burgas last Wednesday.

Misezhnikov's visit is intended to reaffirm warm and friendly bilateral relations between Israel and Bulgaria, especially in the field of tourism

The Israeli Minister of Tourism will first visit capital Sofia, where he will meet with representatives of the local Jewish community at the Sofia Synagogue.

Misezhnikov will also meet high-ranking Bulgarian statesmen, including President Rosen Plevneliev and PM Boyko Borisov.

Later, in Burgas, the Israeli minister will participate in a ceremony at the site where a suicide bomber killed 5 Israelis and their Bulgarian driver.

According to Bulgarian official data 139,000 Israeli citizens visited Bulgaria during 2011.

During the first half of 2012, the number of Israeli visits grew with 11% with respect to the same period last year.
