Bulgarian President, Rosen Plevneliev, is calling a meeting of the Consultative Council on National Security, KSNS.

The meeting is scheduled for July 26 at 10 am in the Presidential Office building in downtown Sofia.

Plevneliev announced the meeting in the beginning of July under his commitment to hold one KSNS sitting every quarter.

On July 6, letters have been mailed to all Council members and they have confirmed their attendance.

The topic for discussion is the European Commission's Cooperation and Verifications Mechanism, CVM, its functioning, issues and trends.

The agenda now includes an extra item related to the terrorist attack at the airport of the Black Sea city of Burgas, where a bus carrying Israeli tourists exploded Wednesday afternoon.

The participants will analyze security environment in the country, resources of the State to prevent and fight terrorism and the implementation of the National Counter -Terrorism Plan.

The rules for the work of KSNS will be adopted.

Under the law, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Defense, of Interior, of Foreign Affairs, and of Finance, the Chief of Defense and the chairs of all parliamentary represented parties are members of KSNS.

The Chair of the Supreme Court of Cassations, the Chief Prosecutor, the PM's Chief of Staff, the Justice Minister, the Chief Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary of the Security Council at the cabinet, the Director of Military Information Services at the Defense Ministry, the Director of the National Intelligence Services and the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament have all been invited and will be in attendance.
